The Lord replied, 'My Presence will go with you and I will give you rest.'
Exodus 33:14
.:. books for contemplation
In our world of intense busy-ness it is so easy to lose sight of who we are in God. We tend to believe that our value is based on what we do, and that what we do has to be perfect. This performance orientation causes many of us to come to grief, emotionally, physically and spiritually. We find ourselves unable to connect with ourselves, with others, and with God. We are poorer for it.
We would do well to pause awhile and discover the contemplative way (or rediscover it if we've lost it). Our peace and well being grow out of our knowing who we are in relationship to God. We were made to enjoy God, and to enjoy him forever.
In my pilgrim journey I've found that many have gone before and have written of their experiences. This has been such and encouragement to me in my own journey. I list here some of the books that have helped me draw near to Jesus and spend time in his wonderful presence. May you be blest and encouraged as well.
